The UK format
- Two pages maximum (one for graduates).
- Name, phone with country code, email, city and LinkedIn at the top.
- A short personal profile, then employment history in reverse order, then education, then skills.
- British spelling: “organised”, “programme”, “CV” not “resume”.
What to leave out
- Photo, date of birth, age, gender, marital status, religion, nationality and father's name.
- Full home address — city is enough.
- “References available on request” — it is assumed.
- Salary history.
Applying from abroad
Explain qualifications UK employers may not recognise, for example “B.Tech (equivalent to a UK bachelor's degree)”. Name well-known clients or employers, and describe company size for local firms. If you need visa sponsorship, say so honestly in the application form rather than in your CV — and target employers licensed to sponsor.
