A one-week plan
- Day 1: research the company and role; list the skills in the job description.
- Day 2: revise core subject basics for the role (for example SQL joins for analysts, OOP for developers).
- Day 3: prepare to explain two projects — the problem, your part, tools, result and what you would change.
- Day 4: write and practise “tell me about yourself”.
- Day 5: prepare three STAR stories from college, internships or part-time work.
- Day 6: full mock interview out loud.
- Day 7: fix weak answers, prepare questions to ask, and plan logistics.
Questions freshers are often asked
- Tell me about yourself.
- Explain your final-year project.
- Why this company? Why this role?
- What are your strengths and weaknesses?
- Are you willing to relocate or work shifts?
- Basic technical or aptitude questions for the role.
Small things that make a big difference
- Keep a copy of your resume open and know every line on it.
- It is fine to say “I don't know, but here is how I would find out.”
- For HR rounds, be honest about career plans and flexibility.
